Compare · EPD Commerce + HighLevel
HighLevel runs your marketing, your funnels, your CRM, and your client outreach. EPD Commerce runs the money side of your business: payments, subscriptions, failed-payment recovery, customer analytics, and an agentic assistant that turns your transaction data into next-action recommendations. The two work together through a native plugin, live in both marketplaces.
Infrastructure trusted by scaling businesses

The short answer
If you are running your agency, your coaching business, or your service business on HighLevel, you are probably doing more inside HighLevel than any other single tool. You built the funnels there. You send email and SMS from there. You manage clients there. That is what HighLevel is good at.
Where HighLevel is thinner is on the money side. Payment configuration is functional but shallow. Subscription analytics are basic. Failed-payment recovery is minimal. Reporting is CRM-shaped, not commerce-shaped. If you are running any real volume of recurring revenue through HighLevel, you have felt this.
EPD Commerce is the commerce operating layer that plugs into HighLevel through a native plugin. You do not move your funnels, your CRM, or your marketing. You keep everything you built in HighLevel exactly where it is. EPD Commerce sits alongside and handles the commerce mechanics HighLevel is not built for.
Credit where it's due
If you are running your business on HighLevel today, we are not asking you to change any of this.
Funnels, websites, email, SMS, calendars, CRM, pipelines. Real breadth.
SaaS Mode, sub-accounts, and white-labeling let agencies run dozens or hundreds of client accounts under one roof.
Workflows across every channel, triggered by any event in the system.
Massive user base, active community, growing marketplace of integrations.
The gaps
HighLevel supports Stripe, HL Payments (which is Stripe on the backend), NMI, Authorize.net, PayPal, and a few others. What you get is the connector. What you do not get is a real operating layer around your payments. If you want to know why a specific transaction failed, whether it is retriable, what your recovery rate looks like across all of your funnels, or which of your products has the healthiest payment mix, you are exporting data and building the answer yourself.
Recurring products in HighLevel work. They bill. They collect. What is thin is everything around the subscription: MRR movement, churn signal, upgrade and downgrade flows, cohort retention, average subscription lifetime, LTV by product. If subscriptions are more than a small percentage of your revenue, this gap gets expensive.
This is the biggest gap. HighLevel does not run automatic retry logic tuned to card issuer behavior. It does not integrate the card updater by default. It does not run dunning sequences that are aware of subscription state. Every failed payment inside HighLevel is either recovered by you, recovered by a third-party plugin you glued on, or lost.
HighLevel's dashboards are built for a CRM. Pipelines, conversion rates, contact counts, appointments booked. What is not built in: revenue by product, MRR movement, cohort retention curves, LTV by product, subscription health, payment-mix analysis. To answer real business questions you are opening a spreadsheet.
Contacts exist in HighLevel. Transactions exist in HighLevel. What does not exist is one clean customer profile that shows every order, every subscription, every touch, every recovery attempt, every note. If a customer asks you a billing question, you are clicking through three tabs to answer.
HighLevel has AI features (workflow AI, conversation AI, voice AI), and they are useful for the marketing side. What HighLevel does not have is an in-product LLM that understands your transaction data specifically, recommends next actions tied to your revenue, or exposes your catalog to external AI agents. That is a different category of AI, and it is what EPD Commerce brings.
The other half of the stack
An agentic assistant that analyzes your actual transaction data in plain English and recommends next actions. Not a workflow bot. A companion that watches your revenue and tells you what to focus on, connected to your catalog, subscription base, and customer history.
Retries timed against card issuer behavior. Card updater integrated by default. Dunning sequences aware of subscription state. On by default. Every recovered payment is revenue you already earned.
MRR movement, churn signal, retention curves, average subscription lifetime, LTV by product, cohort views, subscription health. Built in, not built by you.
Every customer has one profile. Every order, every subscription, every payment attempt, every recovery, every touch, all in one place.
Revenue by product, by cohort, by channel, by time window. Not pipelines and contact counts. The numbers a business owner actually needs to run the business.
Claude, Cursor, and other AI agents can work with your catalog directly through a hosted MCP server. Agent Skills are open source, so developers and creators can extend the platform without waiting on us. First-of-its-kind for a commerce platform.
Build products, offers, and pages without leaving the platform. Not a funnel builder (that is HighLevel's job). A commerce-first builder for the pieces of the customer experience HighLevel is not designed to handle.
Payments, subscriptions, customer data, reporting, and recovery in one platform, on top of Easy Pay Direct's processing foundation. Trusted by thousands of businesses since 2000.
