What is the difference between a processing rail and a payment method? +
A processing rail is the merchant account that moves money to your business. EPD Commerce offers two: Process Now and Easy Pay Direct. A payment method is how your buyer pays at checkout, such as a credit card, Apple Pay, PayPal, ACH, or buy now, pay later.
Who is Process Now for? +
Process Now is the auto-boarded option for low-risk businesses that are just starting or typically process under $25,000 per month. It is not suited to high-volume, high-risk, regulated, or restricted businesses.
How fast is Process Now approval? +
Approvals are typically same day, often within an hour. Every application is still subject to review, and approval is not guaranteed.
Who is Easy Pay Direct for? +
Easy Pay Direct is the fully underwritten, white-glove option and a stable merchant account for nearly every vertical. Any business can apply. We recommend it for businesses processing $25,000 or more per month, but that is a recommendation, not a requirement.
How long does Easy Pay Direct approval take? +
Typical approvals take 1 to 3 days, depending on how quickly we receive your documents. The sooner documents arrive, the sooner approval can happen. Approval is not guaranteed.
Which payment methods can my buyers use? +
Credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo, ACH, and buy now, pay later through Splitit, Klarna, Afterpay, and Sezzle.
Are all payment methods available on both rails? +
Yes. Every listed payment method is available on both Process Now and Easy Pay Direct.
Which buy now, pay later providers are supported? +
Splitit, Klarna, Afterpay, and Sezzle. Financing terms and eligibility are set by each provider.
Is the $25,000 per month figure a hard cutoff? +
No. It is a fit recommendation. Process Now suits businesses typically under that volume, and Easy Pay Direct is recommended above it, but any business can apply for Easy Pay Direct.
